How Taste of the Okanagan got started
Linda started the business from her home kitchen when Kelly was still in high school. Using her mother’s family recipes, she started selling her creations at the Kelowna Farmers’ Market, and quickly developed a following. Over the years she worked hard to source local, seasonal ingredients grown right here in the valley and grew from a single stall at the farmers market to being carried in various wine shops, fruit stands and specialty stores throughout western Canada.
Then what happened?
In 2014 her daughter Kelly moved back to Kelowna after spending several years overseas. With a background in advertising and marketing, and a passion for all things food, she joined the family business. Together this mother-daughter team has taken some big steps to grow their business. They quickly moved out of their home-based kitchen into a small commercial kitchen, and underwent a product rebrand during a stressful 2020, and stayed strong and true to their core values. To them, creating small batch quality products is more than a business - it's a way to bring joy to their family and customers alike.
