Vineyard Notes
The grapes for our Merlot were sourced from vineyards in Osoyoos and Oliver, B.C. that are composed of mostly gravel and sandy soils. The history of Merlot wine shows us that this grape has proven to be very versatile. Not only does Merlot make excellent wine all by itself, but it is often blended to add softness to other varietals of red wine. Merlot is now the prominent grape used as the base when crafting many Okanagan red blends, and is the number one red varietal planted. Our Merlot was aged 13 months in French oak barrels.
