2019 Gidda Family Estate Pinot Noir

EXCLUSIVELY WINE CLUB MEMBERS ONLY

SMALL LOT 60 CASES PRODUCED

Description:

A Cellar worth bottle. Lay this one down for 6-12 months prior to opening. For even greater complexity 2-3 years. In its youth it will reward you with silky tannins, bright aromas and flavours of fresh picked rhubarb, choke cherries, pomegranate seeds, African violets, and temperate rainforest.

The Story:

In 1978, Sarwan Gidda and family planted our first grapes in West Kelowna. Each wine in this single vineyard, cellar worthy line-up has been picked from the highest quality single block of fruit at each of our proprietors' homestead sites. The wines were then guided with care in the cellar by Winemaker Daniel Bontorin to showcase the unique terroir that they, like us, have been raised on.

Perfect Pairing:

Pairs well with Anniversaries and Christmas dinner. Enjoy with Florentine steak finished with grilled lemon, bacon wrapped filet mignon, pasta with bright pesto, moussaka, or roasted turkey with rosemary and cranberry sauce.

Ok.

It’s a little tart for a Pinot.

A good wine but wasn't blown away

I love Volcanic Hills winery and I want to be as honest as possible. The reason I love Volcanic Hills is because your wine is deep, bold, and full bodied. It's the signature of your winery and what everyone knows you for. Unfortunately this Pinot Gris didn't fit that bill. My family was super excited to try it out, but all of us said the same thing: it's a good wine, but not one we would buy again.

To us it felt like the wine wasn't bold and deep, which is what makes Volcanis Hills our favorite wine, and the only wine club we are a part of.

I know everyone has different tastes, but this was the consensus across my family.

I still LOVE Volcanic hills and really appreciate the opportunity to try this new wine.
