Filled with the warm flavours of fall - with a ghastly twist... this Spooky Sangria features our Lapin Cherry Wine, a blend of baking spice infused simple syrup, and the fresh flavours of Apple and Citrus.

- 1 bottle Lapin Cherry Wine
- 750ml Sparkling Apple Juice like Karma Soda
- 1 Granny Smith Apple - sliced
- 1 Navel Orange - Sliced
- 1/3 Cup of Spiced Simple Syrup SEE RECIPE BELOW
- 1 Can of Lychee Fruit in Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Blueberries
- 4 oz. Bourbon or Whiskey - our personal favourite Okanagan Spirits BRBN
For the Simple Syrup:
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 5-10 Cloves
- 5-10 All Spice Berries
Directions:
Combine water, sugar and spices in a small saucepan and set the heat to medium. Once the contents come to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10-15min on low heat - stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and strain out spice. Allow to cool. Syrup can be stored in a mason jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
SPOOKY SANGRIA
Directions:
Place apple and orange slices, in a large pitcher. Add room temperature wine, Bourbon or Whiskey, Simple Syrup and Sparkling Apple Juice. Stir until combined and Refrigerate for 4 hrs.
Lychee Eyeball Garnish
While the Sangria is refrigerating - Drain canned lychee fruit. Place Blueberries stem side out into the hollowed lychee fruit. Option to secure with a toothpick. Add Lychee "eyeballs" to pitcher and gently combine just before serving. For an extra creepy twist - top served glasses with eyeballs on toothpicks that have had a chance to soak in the wine.
Cheers to frightfully good flavors!
