This year’s merlot is medium/dark garnet in color, with aromas of dark cherry, prune, plum, hints of black pepper and vanilla. The palate shows juicy plum, prune, cherry, raspberry, and a touch of mint. It’s medium-bodied with youthful tannins, balanced acidity, along with nicely integrated oak. Best consumed 2016 - 2019.
- Recommended food pairings
- Pairs nicely with red-sauced pastas, lamb, prime rib, beef stews and roasts. Or experiment with chilli dishes, sharp cheeses or chocolate when the wine has had some time in the cellar (aging).
