2018 Single Vineyard Gewurztraminer
The grapes used to make our 2018 Single Vineyard Gewürztraminer are self-rooted and came from our Orchard Block vineyard at Elliott Road which was originally planted in 1999. This special clone produces small, low yielding cluster with thicker ‘waxy’ skinned fruit. This adds a unique creamy texture. The juice was cold fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks to preserve the acidity and aromatics of the wine. We currently have a total of 65 acres of vineyards in West Kelowna, all within 10 kilometers of our winery, along with 7 acres planted onsite.
It’s pale straw in colour with a nicely lifted bouquet of fresh gala apple, lychee fruit, poached pear, meyer lemon and baking spices. The off-dry, medium bodied palate is fresh and round, echoing the nose with more apple, peach, lychee, spice and subtle notes of perfume. The finish is moderate and mineral driven. A classic from the Elliott Road vineyard!
