This year’s merlot is medium/dark garnet in color, with aromas of plum, dark fruits, touch of spice, earth & vanilla. The palate shows juicy, rich and round plum complimented with a blend of savoury dark berries and mocha/chocolate. It’s medium-bodied with velvety/dusty tannins, balanced acidity with well integrated oak and long fleshy finish. Best consumed 2017 - 2020.
- Recommended food pairings
- Pairs nicely with red-sauced pastas, braised short ribs, lasagne, meatloaf or cheese burgers. As a side dish – serve caramelized roast veggies. Due to the savoury or ‘umami’ note in this wine - try tomato-based Italian dishes and roast chicken, mushrooms and parmesan.
